A bird’s sense of touch is generally concentrated in its un-feathered areas like its beaks and feet. Birds have a sense of taste as well, though it is not as extensive as in humans. I drew this directly in ink without a pencil pre-drawing. Black ink and paint pen on paper, 6″x6″.

I spend the day attending wonderful workshops and presentations at the inaugural Sketchkon 2018 in Pasadena, California. The first four sketches are continuous contour line drawings. At this conference I decided to be brave and put my erasers away. All my sketches are in ink without a pencil pre-drawing.
