I’m nearly done. A few more details needed, like in his hair. Today I added a bit of color to his face, among other things. “Vlady with Octopus”, a surreal portrait of my husband. Acrylic on canvas, 30″x30″.

Vlady told me I needed to add more detail to his eyes in “Vlady with Octopus”. I also worked on hair stuff, and deepening some darks here and there.. 30″x30″ acrylic on canvas.
I put another hour or so into “Vlady with Octopus”. This time I focused on brightening his eyes, painting the fold of his shirt, adding detail to the cooked octopus in his mouth, and starting some underwater bubbles. 30″x30″ acrylic on canvas.
My friend Steve Mehallo convinced me to leave the tentacles undetailed, but I had to at least throw a gradient in them. More to come. 30″x30″ acrylic on canvas.

I added some color to the previous drawing, on request. *sold* Inktober day 10: “Flowing”. One of my favorite animals is the Pacific Giant Octopus. Micron pen and Copic markers in Moleskine sketchbook. 4″x5″
