“Bunny Willow” mixed media painting

“Bunny Willow” Rebooted. I thought I was done with this painting in April, but this week I decided I was wrong about that. NOW it’s done. I added texture and pattern throughout with paint pen today.

6″x6″, mixed media on paper, mounted on wood panel. Work in progress photos below.

“Theo in Headphones”, my 8-year-old son fitted out for a round of video gaming. Not gonna lie, I struggled with his nose. I’m still working on my skills with this medium of Inktense block inks. It’s more forgiving than watercolor if you go too dark. But not completely forgiving. There is some small amount of show-through of the layers below, and the white is a bit gray. I end up having to cover his nose with opaque white watercolor ground from Golden. Twice. Ink and Inktense on cotton hotpress paper, 6″x6″. Work-in-progress photos are below.
